A simple SPICE model for the anode circuit of the Hamamatsu R5900 PMT used in the AMS detector

This short note describes a SPICE model of the anode circuit of the Hamamatsu R5900 photmultiplier tube (PMT) which is likely to be employed in the time of flight detector of the AMS experiment. The results of SPICE simulations run on the simple model proposed show a good match with the signal waveform observed; the model might then be used in the design of the signal processing stages following the PMT, such as compensation networks, mixers and integrators. Non linear effects (large signal operation of the PMT) are not accounted for in this model
